AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal to kick start election campaign in Haryana

AAP’s New Campaign in Haryana: Arvind Kejriwal Kicks Off Roadshow

A Historic Moment

Today marks a significant moment for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as chief Arvind Kejriwal launches the party’s campaign in Haryana with a roadshow in Yamunanagar district. This event is particularly notable as it’s Kejriwal’s first public appearance since being released on bail in the Delhi Excise Policy case.

Roadshow Details

The roadshow is set to begin at 2:30 PM from Jhanda Chowk in the Jagadhri constituency. This is after his recent resignation as Delhi chief minister, AAP leader Atishi is poised to be sworn in as the new chief minister of Delhi this Saturday. With Haryana elections approaching—scheduled for October 5—the atmosphere is charged with anticipation.

Campaign Strategy

Sandeep Pathak, AAP’s national general secretary (organization), emphasized the significance of Kejriwal’s return, stating, “AAP national convenor Kejriwal has emerged from jail after overcoming the BJP’s conspiracy. He is now fully prepared to launch the election campaign in Haryana.”

After the roadshow, Kejriwal will hit several key areas, including Dabwali, Rania, Bhiwani, Meham, Pundri, Kalayat, Rewari, Dadri, Assandh, Ballabgarh, and Badra. Pathak announced that Kejriwal will cover 11 districts with a total of 13 scheduled programs, indicating a robust campaign strategy.

AAP’s Position in the Elections

While details of the subsequent campaign schedule will be shared later, AAP is contesting all 90 seats in Haryana after negotiations with Congress over a potential seat-sharing agreement fell through. The BJP has held power in Haryana since 2014, making this election a crucial battleground for AAP.

A Call for Change

Pathak further noted the importance of this campaign, saying, “For the first time, Arvind Kejriwal is coming to Haryana with AAP. A great new option for change is now before the people of Haryana. They have witnessed AAP’s work in Punjab and the governance in Delhi. Having seen all this, the people will seek change and vote for Arvind Kejriwal’s honest politics and AAP.”
